Charlotte Clymer is a “trans woman,” a biological man who goes to great lengths to present himself as a woman. Recently, Clymer was interviewed by Joy Reid on MSNBC, and the discussion went, in part, like this:
Clymer: I would challenge anyone just to get to know trans people. We are a vibrant, diverse community, as diverse as anyone else. You know, I’m from the great state of Texas. I served in the military. I go to church every Sunday. My faith is very important to me. But god made me in her image. God made me transgender. And to see these people so cynically weaponize this and exploit these children’s deaths and their teachers’ deaths, it breaks my heart—I wonder what those families are thinking right now.
Reid: What do you feel when you hear somebody like Michael Knowles at CPAC say, “We need to irradicate transgenderism,” and when somebody like Tucker Carlson says that “transgender people are at war with Christians”?
Clymer: I can’t see Christ in their words, that’s for d*** sure. I can’t see where the Biblical principles of loving your neighbor and walking the walk with Christ that they can see. I can’t see what they’re seeing right now, because that’s not of Christ, it’s not.
Reid: Yeah.
Charlotte Clymer demands that we refer to him as “her,” despite the biological fact that he is male. On the other hand, Clymer has no compunction in calling God whatever he wants to call Him. He has no respect for God’s pronouns. “God made me in her image,” he says, appealing to the Bible for authority. “God made me transgender,” he says.
Okay—you went there, Clymer. You are claiming to be a church-going Christian and you are pulling out the Bible to defend yourself and to take aim at all those Christians out there who don’t agree with your self-mutilation and self-deception.
You treat the Bible like you treat your body—you modify and mutilate it. You think you can change its words just because you feel like it. What’s worse, you think you can change GOD just because you feel like it.
The Bible clearly says, “A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God” (Deuteronomy 22.5). It was an abomination in Moses’ day, and it’s an abomination still because God does not change (James 1.17) and His word stands forever (1 Peter 1.22).
The quote you butchered, Clymer, is in the very first chapter of the Bible, and you would do well to commit this to memory:
“So God created man in His own image,
Genesis 1.27
in the image of God He created him;
male and female He created them.”
Since you go to church regularly, you know God created you; you don’t create God. God created you in His own image; you don’t create Him in yours. False gods are created in the likeness of man and given the attributes of man, including his sinful nature. If man has pride, man’s created gods have exponential pride. If man is selfish, man’s created gods major in selfishness. If man hates, his created gods stew with hatred.
But Yahweh God, the one true and living God, created all things and exercises authority over all things. The Creator has the right to tell His creations what we are created to be—we shouldn’t declare our own purpose; we should submit to the purpose for which we were made.
Except we don’t. And that is called sin.
Here’s a passage from the Bible you claim to believe:
Romans 1.24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.
28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
Romans 1.24-32
Clymer, I don’t want to leave you thinking the Bible simply leaves a sinner condemned without a solution. In His mercy, God provided salvation for all who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord. When we say “Lord,” we mean master; Jesus is King and Sovereign over all creation. Do you believe in Jesus as Lord? Will you submit to Him? Notice, Jesus is a man and always uses masculine pronouns. God uses masculine pronouns. The Bible sometimes uses neuter pronouns with the Holy Spirit—but not feminine. Will you submit to God by referring to Him as He has revealed Himself to us?
Repentance means changing your mind and way of life to conform to God’s commandments, surrendering to His authority. It’s not popular today to talk about obedience and surrender, is it? You cannot appeal to the Bible without appealing to God’s authority!
Clymer, you need to do one of two things:
- Repent of your open, public rebellion against the Most High God. Start by respecting His pronouns and acting like the sex He created you to be. Respect God’s categories of Creation.
- Stop appealing the Bible. You don’t know what it means to be a Christian, and you have no right to tell Christians what we ought to say or do when you so seriously butcher the Scriptures.
I pray you choose the first path. That’s the truly life-affirming, God-honoring path!
